Tom Decker

Mr. Decker’s extensive background in the public and private sectors includes working in federal and local government as well as the newspaper industry. His broad understanding of public affairs, management and marketing provides business strategies that are ambitious and appropriate for the organizations he serves.

Mr. Decker’s experience in port management includes directing government affairs and public strategies on wide ranging projects. He negotiated and secured Congressional funding for aviation, navigation, environmental and ship-building projects.  He also organized port and community participation in aviation negotiations with Asian countries. 

In the newspaper industry, Mr. Decker served as publisher for a variety of newspaper groups overseeing news management, advertising, production and merger integration. 

In other government positions, Mr. Decker served as executive director of President Ronald Reagan’s inaugural ceremonies, staff director of the U.S. Senate Rules Committee, and deputy staff director of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee. 

Mr. Decker graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Political Science and Journalism.
