Hannah Schmidt

Ms. Schmidt began her career in public accounting, and joined Hamstreet & Associates in 2009. Ms. Schmidt excels at providing guidance to clients in financial distress, and has acted as interim CFO of a wholesale nursery and assistant CRO of Altrec, Inc, an online retailer being sold through Chapter 11. She specializes in preparing financial projections that aid in developing turnaround strategies and preparing detailed cash budgets to help manage limited funds. Ms. Schmidt has worked extensively with companies in Chapter 11, assisting in all stages of that process—from preparing the initial schedules for filing, to compiling complex claims and distribution information, to negotiating settlements for past due state and local taxes.

During her time in public accounting, Ms. Schmidt worked as an audit manager, where she was responsible for planning, directing, and completing attestation and compliance engagements with for both for profit and governmental entities. Her public sector clients included cities, counties, and housing authorities, while her business experience ranged across a variety of industries with an emphasis in manufacturing and hospitality.

Ms. Schmidt is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA). She received a Masters Degree in Accounting and a BA in Economics and Business from Hendrix College.
