Maren Cohn

Ms. Cohn began working with Hamstreet & Associates in 2005. Coming from a professional academic background, she brings expertise in critical thinking, writing, and analysis to her work as a consultant and case manager for the company. 

Ms. Cohn focuses on objective business assessments and improvement of organizational performance, helping to develop innovative plans that successfully address complex and challenging situations.  She has worked with numerous national and regional clients on strategies aimed at cost reduction, business development and planning, investor relations, external communications, and improved management and governance systems. 

Ms. Cohn’s industry experience includes agriculture, timber, senior housing, and homebuilding.  In addition, she has special expertise and ability in legal settings, including bankruptcy and mediation.  Her most recent engagement involved a complex business, legal, and tax environment in which Ms. Cohn led investor planning and communications and served as a point person helping operational and financial professionals, accountants, attorneys, and investors to develop, communicate, and execute a multi-faceted restructuring plan. 

Ms. Cohn graduated Phi Beta Kappa with Honors and Distinction from Stanford University and received her Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago.  With a background in Western literature, classics, and philosophy, she taught for several years at St. John's College in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon
